Jin Ju is a contemporary Korean Restaurant that incorporates traditional Korean cooking into a Western-style dining experience that would appeal to novices. The dining room features clean, minimalist décor of oak floors, brick walls punctuated by a huge hanging mirror, and exposed ductwork and wood beamed ceilings. Ambience is further created by hip electronic beats and candlelit tables. English-speaking waiters provide an atmosphere that is not intimidating to anyone, with excellent service and an intimate knowledge of the menu.

Traditionally, Korean food is served family style. However, Jin Ju’s menu has been Westernized, dividing the dishes into familiar appetizer and entrée headings. Appetizers include mandoo (beef-filled dumplings) served with a soy vinaigrette spiced with red-chile flakes on a bed of bright cabbage leaves, and kim bap te gim, a tempura-fried roll filled with beef, vegetables and seaweed. Entrée’s include the traditional dol sut bi bim bop (rice topped with vegetables, beef, and egg served in a sizzling hot stone pot with sesame oil) and dak bulgogi (boneless chicken sautéed in a spicy red pepper sauce with onions, green chili peppers and scallions). The experience is complete with a playful selection of cocktails including the popular cucumber and Asian pear Sojutinis.
