Nestled alongside a 15-mile stretch of forest preserve, Courtright’s elegant yet inviting main dining room displays expansive views of the four-season outdoor garden, surrounding woodlands and wildlife through floor-to-ceiling picture windows.

Courtright’s Arts & Crafts style interior features rich oak woodwork, a stunning hand-woven recreation of a William Morris rug and a series of murals, carvings and an etched stained-glass window that represents the different generations of the Courtright hospitality legacy.

Creative, but straightforward in his cooking, Chef Jonathan Harootunian develops his menu on the principles of simplicity and a passion and respect for ingredients creating a 21 Century spin on Contemporary American Cuisine. Ever inventive, he takes artisanal and organic ingredients and combines them in unexpected but approachable ways to dazzle both the eyes and the palate.

Courtright’s award-winning wine cellar is integral to the 4-star dining experience. Composed of over 17,000 bottles of wine hand-selected by William Courtright, the collection is housed in a 25,000-bottle-capacity redwood cellar. In the private cellar dining room, guests enjoy custom designed, multi-course degustation menus and wine pairings presented on a stunning 18th Century-style double-pedestal mahogany table. This intimate room is all about the utmost in pampering and luxuries from the intricately carved Chippendale chairs to the tongue-and-groove redwood walls, muted lighting, hand-knotted Indian Agra rug and views of Courtright’s exclusive collection of coveted wines, rare vintages and large format bottles.

Since the beginning, William and Rebecca’s restaurant has been designed to delight the palate and senses – both inside and out. Clearly, this approach resonates with both its guests and dining critics. In December 2004, a few months shy of the restaurant’s 10-year anniversary, Chicago Tribune restaurant critic Phil Vettel awarded Coutright’s their fourth star. And in September 2005, Pat Bruno, Chicago Sun-Times restaurant critic, recognized Coutright’s as “One of Chicago’s Top 20 Restaurants of the Last 20 Years.”
